Apparently, they are organized alphabetically in the originals, but and I found (quite by accident) an alphabetically misfiled record, 12 pages long, for one Claudio Beverhoudt from 1830.

I'll send along the particulars to you via email. Keep up the good work with your blog!

Dante

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5717482586742122982.post-52167446708750422472012-11-03T07:53:14.000-04:002012-11-03T07:53:14.000-04:00Dear Mr. Lynch:

You will be surprised at the vast number of records that are indexed! The VISHA Database is available free of charge to library patrons. It allows a user to search through church, census, cemetery, compensation commission, vaccination, and many other records. Then we have the wonderful privilege of being able to take a few steps and access copies of the very same records.

At Whim, Virgin Islands researchers have greater access to family history records in one location than most people in other jurisdictions will find in a lifetime of searching. The downside is that finding out about Landmarks' Family History Center leaves many longing for such a collection on every Caribbean island! We try to inspire them to emulate the work of volunteers and staff who over many years have dedicated themselves to building our wonderful collection.

See you on St. Croix!
Sonia Jacobs DowAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717709880317477810noreply@blogger.com
